Your one hour can help change the future!
“You must be the change you wish to see in the world” – wise words from the gentle but legendary and system-changing Mahatma Gandhi. This November, we explore the concept of alternative futures and the organisations, ground-ups, individuals and companies we work with that are trying to build a different future in the present.
TheOneHourProject (TOHP) itself was born out of a desire to create a society that cares by empowering individuals to do so by sharing their time, skills and knowledge. In the past four years we’ve had the opportunity to mobilize volunteers (from interns to CEOs!) to help non-profits and groundups make an even bigger impact. And all this just from one hour of help and volunteering at a time!
We know that for professionals and skilled workers, our time is precious and our calendars are packed but when you try to be intentional for even just an hour, you will see the difference an hour makes. Our work has allowed us to make a difference in areas that we, and our community, want to see alternative futures: a climate that can breathe better, inclusivity thriving in the workplace and society, higher literacy rates and kindness and learning across generations and even species. This month we invite you to dream of alternative futures with us – and then join us in building the future we dream of, one hour at a time.
